Student Council Mission Statement
The members of Student Council work to help our school by representing their class, looking through suggestions, having discussions, taking part in decision-making, and presenting to students/teachers/administrators. They also are heavily involved with Pennies Matter, City Harvest, and other charitable organizations. Students in the council learn about how they can help, then begin to take action. They make posters, do research, vote to decide how to allocate (give) money, and run bake sales/ food drives/ toy drives. Student Council is made up of two representatives from each class in the 4th and 5th grade, and two students from grade 3. The Student Government is made up of the 4 core members: the school president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. The students join the council by running for and winning their own classroom's president or vice president position.
Student Council Mission is to:
- Be a model upstander to develop good citizenship and be a positive role model
- Take action to build a stronger bond between our school and the community
- Represent and respect teachers and students by giving each person a voice
